If someone has the choice to work at NASA, or at your company (in similar positions), what would they prefer?
Usually, NASA would come out first. Why?
Massive Transformative Purpose
NASA: Explore the unknown in air and space, innovate for the benefit of humanity, and inspire the world through discovery.
Google: Organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.
World Top 20 Project: Educate every child on the planet.
This is MTP (Massive Transformative Purpose). The MTP is not a simple “Mission Statement”. It is a grand goal that proposes a better world, inspiring and exhorting anyone who hears it to follow. And while these goals may sound unrealistic or excessive, the very fact that they have been set has led to the strange phenomenon of miracles happening!
All Exhibitors have an MTP!
Looking Up
Every goal gives a direction. The difference in MTP is that with such a big goal, the team is directed to methods and strategies aimed at rapid growth. Innovation and the use of new technologies is a key feature of Exhibiting Organizations – and nothing forces a team to think and test new ideas like a challenging target.
Building a Team for Exponential Growth
A key requirement for the rapid growth of an organization is both attracting new talent to the team, as well as retaining them. In an environment where these talents are in demand, having an MTP is an important factor in standing out – after all, everyone wants to work for a higher purpose.
Cultivating the company culture
The existence of an MTP creates conditions for building a positive culture, within and around the company. If you’re just a business like any other, the best you can hope for is to be preferred over your competitors. On the other hand, if your goal is noble enough and if it speaks to people’s hearts, then they will not only support you, but also become members of your “tribe” and be proud of it.
(Quiz: Do you know a company whose lack of culture has caused serious damage?)
Big problems, big opportunities
The problems that concern today’s world create new needs, and new opportunities for the companies that can offer solutions to them. The Exhibiting Organizations, having as their main goal the solution of the biggest problems of our time, are in an advantageous position even against much larger companies.
